We might have bought a painting today ...

Start of the day : Old Montreal with a first visit to the market (all nice galleries) and the Notre-Dame. Visiting the Notre-Dame inside is really worth it (a lot of colors combined with the carved wood).

We then went to Ile Sainte-Helene to see the Biosphere (a remaining of expo in the 60's). Very nice to see this.

For lunch Michael guided us to the town he lived in when he was a boy : Knowlton. 'only' +/- 1h45 drive from Montreal (Canadians really have a totally different perception on distance to be driven to go out for lunch or dinner). Very pleasant town and I'm sure a lot of people would like to live in this quiet area with great houses on large properties. Maybe we'll even have a souvenir of this village in our home soon, since we saw a nice painting of a horse. Whether we buy it will depend on the costs to have it sent to Belgium, so we'll decide on Monday.

We had a big rain shower on our way back to Montreal but didn't had a big problem with that since watched a Eurovision Songcontest DVD in the car ;-)

And of course we again have been very lucky - by the time we arrived in Montreal the rain had stopped and we went to have a view on Montreal from the Mont-Royal. A bit foggy but this gives an idea :

We just saw another side of Montreal - driving through Little Italy - with very typical houses having outside stairs leading to the 1st floor.

Time now to prepare for dinner ...

PS : Today it has been proven that our decision - after some doubts - to take the full risk insurance is the right one, since some people smashed one of the mirrors during the night ... Luckily we are insured.

Another busy and very interesting day. Nice picture of the old city hall and the geodesic dome I remember from Expo 67 riding through it on a mono rail train. I was,...well never mind how old I was:-0

That was quite a drive for lunch but it gave you a chance to enjoy Eurovision again+++ ;-)

Good view overlooking Montreal and the Montreal Olympic Stadium in the background built for the 1976 Olympics too bad about the hazy day.

Sorry to hear of the vandalism to the car. We are not all like that :-)

One thought, shipping a painting of a horse won't cost as much as shipping a real horse :-P
